The ever popular Northern Suburbs Country Music Day will be staged at the Tolosa Park Sound-shell, Sunday the 26th of February from 11am to 4pm, as part of the Summer Music In Tolosa Park series.

Five bands and more than 35 artists will be featured across the nearly five hour program of country music.

The event includes musicians from clubs across southern Tasmania including the Clarence Country Music Club, who will join performers from Country Gold Music Club; The Country Music Club of Southern Tasmania; Bridgewater and Friends Country Music Club; and The Derwent Valley Country Music Club.

“It’s a great chance for club members from all five clubs to come together and perform to a wider audience” says the event MC and one of the event organizers, Mr Wayne Crossin.

“Its a terrific opportunity for people who are interested in, or play Country Music to find out what clubs in their area are doing and how people can get involved.”

The annual event, now in its seventh year is organized by the major regional country music clubs, with the assistance of Glenorchy City Council as part of the Summer Music In Tolosa park series.

Scores of members from country music clubs, as well as the general public, are expected to attend. The event is free.

Information on country music clubs and activities throughout the region will be available. Patrons are asked to bring a picnic blanket or fold out chair. Some refreshments and a BBQ will be available at reasonable prices. Shade umbrellas are welcome.
