Labor Member for Franklin David O’Byrne will today join dog lovers and their four-legged
friends at the launch of Club Canine Kingston, a dog care service specifically designed to
meet the needs of busy dog owners.
After moving into its Hobart city centre in 2010, Club Canine soon gained a loyal client base
of dog owners who used the service as a place to leave their pets during work hours.
Co-founder and owner Terry Cutcliffe said with the current economic climate dictating that
fewer families can afford to survive on a sole income, Club Canine Kingston provided peace
of mind to dog lovers worried about their lonely pets.
“Dogs can get restless or stressed when left alone for long periods, so our centre offers a
place for dogs to interact with each other and have company while their owners are away.”
“Dogs participate in our fun training games and activities, play with other dogs, have rest
periods in our doggy lounge and come home exhausted, ready for dinner and cuddles,” Mr
Cutcliffe said.
Mr Cutcliffe said Club Canine Kingston offered services such as dog day-care, sleepovers,
walking, grooming and training classes, and gave people an alternative to leaving their pets
home alone.
“There are a lot of dog owners in the Kingborough and Huon areas, particularly with
Kingston Beach being such a popular spot for exercising dogs,” Mr Cutcliffe said.
“We love animals, it’s why we do what we do. We also enjoy meeting new faces, so
hopefully the Kingston base attracts lots of different dogs of all shapes and sizes.”
