The Claremont Rotary Club advise that as part of the lead up to Christmas they held their annual Senior’s Luncheon on Sunday 13 November 2011 at the Police Academy at Rokeby.
Craig Stringer, Public Relations spokesperson for Claremont Rotary Club said that this is one of the many community events undertaken by Claremont Rotary Club each year.
Mr Stringer said “He was very pleased to see so many of our community senior’s attending this year’s Senior’s Luncheon, a total of 95 seniors from the north suburbs community. They were picked up by two buses and transported to the Police Academy at Rokeby.”
Mr Stringer said “Each senior had a two course meal consisting of a baked lunch and sweets prepared in the kitchen by members of the Claremont Rotary Club who then serve the meal as well.”
Mr Stringer said “The seniors come from The Gardens, Lady Clark, Claremont Seniors, Anglican and Catholic Church, Abbeyfield House, Community House Chigwell and Eating with Friends.
Mr Stringer said “Members of the Claremont Rotary club ascended on the Rokeby Police Academy from 8am to prepare all the food by lunchtime.”
Mr Stringer said “The seniors were entertained by the Dink Di Band during and after the luncheon.”
