GIDDINGS, HODGMAN AND MCKIM CO-HEADLINE THE MILESTONE SHOW!
Edge Radio, Hobart’s award-winning community radio station, will celebrate the 300th edition of popular Friday
breakfast show The Brink with a huge line-up of guests.
After six years and 215 guests, The Brink has earnt a reputation for bringing together Tasmania’s biggest
names to discuss the biggest and smallest issues. The state’s three parliamentary leaders, Premier Lara
Giddings, Opposition Leader Will Hodgman and Greens leader Nick McKim are appearing, alongside other
elected representatives and Tasmanian celebrities. The morning will also include a unique birthday cake,
celebratory cheese platter as well as the Edge Radio studio being adorned in decorations to celebrate the
special occasion.
Premier Lara Giddings said, “Appearing on The Brink is always a lot of fun and, much like Kerry O’Brien, you
can always count on Ben to ask the big questions. Although I am not sure any 7.30 Report guests were ever
asked whether they scrunched or folded!…Congratulations to Edge Radio and everyone involved with The
Brink for reaching this impressive milestone and for creating an entertaining show which is highly regarded
within the Tasmanian broadcast media.”
Show host Ben Waterworth, who has been on the show since its inception in 2006, said, “Throughout 299
shows we have attempted to always bring Hobart the biggest guests on community radio and we have
succeeded.
“Our motto for the show is ‘Hobart’s voice for inclusion’ and during our 300th show we will remember all the
moments that have made the show so popular, not only in Hobart but right across the state, country and even
abroad. We’ll also unveil the results of our “Best Moments of the first 300 shows” poll to bring back some good
memories.”
Edge Radio Station Manager Andrew Dower spoke of his admiration for The Brink. “The Brink has consistently
landed the big name interviews that are the envy of other radio stations,” Mr Dower said. “The Brink has
certainly helped Edge cement its position as Hobart’s number one community radio station.”
Since The Brink’s first airing in 2006, listeners have been treated to interviews with:

Between them the impressive list of guests have won:
