Dear Ministers
Please see the enclosed information with regard to the harmful effects of wood smoke exposure on human health.
This is a preventative health issues for all Tasmanians.
I acknowledge that the Tasmanian Government is taking a strong stand on decreasing individual cigarette smoking; ‘community exposure’ to wood smoke pollution from all wood burning activities including those of forest industries is also an obvious health problem and requires similar strong leadership and affirmative action.

Hi all,
Just an update to our victory on September 12th http://www.windsorstar.com/levied+wood+burning/5410916/story.html
Council heard my motion of September 26th and it was tied until the mayor cast his vote and then it was lost.
It followed immediately with another motion that will send it to Administration, the Fire Dept. and the Building Dept.
Ron Giofu from the Amherstburg Echo was in touch with me and he has put an article in the Amherstburg Echo. http://www.amherstburgecho.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3321951
This is pretty amazing as small town newspapers don’t usually come on this strong about any issue. Hopefully, it will bring some people who are fighting wood smoke out in the open.
I think it will stun the mayor and a couple of councillors… and that might be a good thing, leaving them not much choice but to deal with residential wood smoke at last.
