This October 24 – 30, Edge Radio is running Radiothon 2011. Edge Radio is a not-forprofit,
independent station that relies on sponsors and people like YOU to keep us
alive.
What is Radiothon?
Radiothon 2011 is a week-long celebration where we ask our listeners to contribute
financially to the station. Essentially we are turning to the music loving community to
help raise vital funds to keep Edge Radio afloat.
Financial Supporters are vital to the survival of community radio. Most community
stations run an annual Radiothon as a major source of income, and it is an important
event on their calendar.
During Radiothon 2011, our breakfast programming will feature interviews with local
bands and artists discussing how important Edge Radio is to them and the local
community. There are also heaps of prizes and incentives involved, so if you’re
passionate about local music, arts, and culture- dig deep from October 24 and show
us some love.
How do I become a Supporter during Radiothon 2011?
There’s a delectable prize pool for all Supporters who sign up during Radiothon,
check out the goodies on the dedicated Radiothon 2011 webpage.
To sign up as a Supporter, simply jump on the Edge Radio website –
www.edgeradio.org.au/radiothon or call the station on 03 6226 7273.
You can also jump online and use our Radiothon 2011 ‘Love Box’ to express your love
for community radio, and tell us why you think Edge Radio should be celebrated.
Edge will also be hosting the third annual ‘Face the Music’ Quiz fundraiser on
October 27 at Republic Bar (upstairs), giving you a chance to pit your wits against
Edge Radio DJs and score some awesome prizes – all while raising important funds
for Edge Radio.
