Queenstown looks to the future

Posted on

The Tasmanian Greens today congratulated the community of Queenstown for their inspirational work to rejuvenate their town through the Renew Queenstown project.

Greens Member for Braddon Paul O’Halloran MP said he welcomed the fact that the $10,000 secured by the Greens during the last Budget negotiations has been provided to the community.

Mr O’Halloran also highlighted the contribution of the Australian and Tasmanian Greens, particularly Senator Christine Milne, in bringing the driver of Project Newcastle, Marcus Westbury, to Queenstown earlier this year.

“The Queenstown community has made it clear that renewal can and will happen for their town, and the Greens are looking forward to seeing the benefits that will flow to the region’s economic and cultural life.”

“The project is a fantastic model for other regional towns around Tasmania, and it deserves tripartite party support to help keep the momentum going to make sure that it doesn’t become a missed opportunity.”
