Dick Adams, who are you, what do you do? 4

Dick you have been in the Federal Parliament for 20 years, soon you will make a decision to retire. Before you do so, can you tell us what you have accomplished and why you bothered to stand at the last three or four elections?

Can you also explain why you waited until David Bartlett was out of politics, before you stated he was unworthy. (HERE)

Why if you have the ‘interest of the public’ did you wait? Why didn’t you say it before his election? It seemed cruel that you waited until after he left politics. Yet this is all we have heard from you in 20 years.

Nothing else.

You seem to have forgotten that the Midlands Highway ‘a goat track’ runs right through your electorate but you appear to have completely ignored it. In your 20 years in Parliament why has this road remained a death trap?

You have one of the worst unemployment statistics in your electorate, but I cannot recall one initiative that you have put together for your electorate to improve the living standards or employment.

The poverty in your electorate of Lyons is one of the most atrocious in Australia yet I still cannot recall that you have made a difference. Many industries have closed including the chip mills, forestry etc but you appeared to ignore them>

Why?

Dick have you introduced into parliament any initiatives or ideas, can you please detail one or two? Are there any campaigns or pursuits that you have nurtured in Parliament and actually seen to fruition?

What do you think of the gaming minimisation introduced into Parliament by Andrew Wilkie and if you support it, why have you remained silent for so many years about the devastation in your electorate caused by this state sanctioned parasite. You will be told by caucus how to vote on this matter; have you ever persuaded caucus to adopt any policy that you have created?

Dick, I know that your party and supporters believe you have been a valued member of Parliament; please explain what your value is?

Please explain who are you and what do you do?

Lara Giddings, frequently refers to ‘Labor values’.

Can you tell us what that means? Do you share the same ‘Labor values’ as Premier Giddings?

The Premier when asked about $1.00 bets on gaming machines, stated that she had only talked to the owners of the machines, not the victims.

Do you have these same ‘Labor values’?

Greg James spent his formative years overseas and came to Tasmania in 1985. With the occasional business success and failure, he has developed himself into a non-team player. Greg has variously been National Chairman of Host Plus (the Hospitality Industry Super fund), Chairman of the Australian Comedy Festival and has been a participant in fishing, radio, tourism, oyster, restaurant, hotel and agriculture start-ups. His politics have swung to independent and he states; ‘I am prepared to support any intelligent candidate, but not someone dependent on a party for their thinking and decision making’. Greg has long been active in politics, a failed candidate three times and now a strong supporter of anyone anti-gaming. Greg is proud that he introduced Andrew Wilkie to the anti-gaming cause and is intent on seeing the demolition of gaming in Australia. Greg is the creator of Kingston Green a masterplanned, low cost housing project with approval for the creation of 210 houses.
