Penelope An and her Text-a-Bus service 4

Rumney Upper House Candidate Penelope Ann encourages voters to elect a new representative who has fresh ideas, imagination and vision for Rumney.

Penelope Ann, Greens candidate for Rumney, will put ideas into practice by demonstrating that linking a mini-bus with text bookings can provide a flexible, frequent bus service from door step to city.

On Tuesday 3rd May Penelope will provide a free bus service from Sorell and Midway Point to Hobart as a demonstration of the possibility of a flexible, cheaper, cleaner, fuel efficient transport option.

‘Big buses lumbering through suburban streets, following a long, meandering route in case someone wants to ride is no longer necessary during off peak times’, said Penelope.

‘A mini-bus that comes to your door when you text (or phone to text) could provide a better service, use less fuel, produce less pollution and be much quicker’.

• The Text–a-Bus will depart from the Information Centre at Sorell at 10.00am. 11.30am. 1.00pm. 2.30pm. 4.00pm.
• Text-a-bus will depart Hobart beside the Information Centre in Elizabeth St. cnr. Davey St.. at 10.45am. 12.15pm. 1.45pm. 3.15pm.

Penelope Ann, Greens Candidate for Rumney invites the Press to meet the Text-a-Bus at Elizabeth Street at 10.45 to welcome the first commuters.

‘Residents of Sorell and Midway Point have expressed anger and frustration at the current limited bus service which restricts their access to health, education, employment and social opportunities’ concluded Greens candidate for Rumney, Penelope Ann.
