Les Blakebrough has often been described as a ‘living national treasure’. He is highly regarded within the Australian art world and he turns eighty years of age on Tuesday 05 October 2010 – the day his exhibition opens. This exhibition of superb ceramics celebrates his five decades plus involvement in the world of art.

Opening Tuesday 05 October 2010 at 6.00pm; guest speaker: Daniel Thomas AM – a former Head of Australian Art at the Art Gallery NSW and Australia National Gallery, Canberra and, former Director Art Gallery of South Australia.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Bett Gallery Hobart has produced a monograph in the Tasmanian Monograph series – simply titled: Les Blakebrough. This 64 page book is richly illustrated in full colour and retails for $39.95. A limited edition collectors monograph, Les will be signing copies at his opening.
