In the last few hours speaking in Scotland ( BBC reports HERE ) the Pope has claimed that the holocaust was caused by secularism/atheism. He appears to have forgotten that the majority of the 20th century fascist/Nazis were in fact Roman Catholics.

The Catholic Fascist dictators of the 20th Century one of whom was a Catholic priest in good standing with his church before, during and even after the holocaust :

• Croatia’s Ante Pavelic
• Bohemia-Moravia’s Emil Hacha
• Germany ‘s Adolf Hitler
• Italy’s Benito Mussolini
• Portugal’s Antonio Salazar
• Slovakia’s Fr. Josef Tiso
• Spain’s Francisco Franco
• Sudetenland’s Konrad Henlein
• Vichy-France’s Pierre Laval
• Vichy-France’s Henry Petain

If you add the murderous regimes of South America and Mezzo America the list of Catholic mass murderers would encompass almost every non-communist political mass murderer and apologist.

Maybe the Pontiff should clean up his own backyard before attempting to rewrite history.

On April 20, 1939, Archbishop Orsenigo celebrated Hitler’s birthday. The celebrations, initiated by Pacelli (Pope Pius XII) became a tradition. Each April 20, Cardinal Bertram of Berlin was to send “warmest congratulations to the Fuhrer in the name of the bishops and the dioceses in Germany” and added with “fervent prayers which the Catholics of Germany are sending to heaven on their altars.”
