At a desolate lakehouse, film director Torsten attempts to revive a Nazi-era concentration camp experiment that turns into a battle for survival.
PRODUCTION OVERVIEW
Wail Away is a $1.5 million joint initiative spearheaded by Producer/Director Mark Lipkin (LipkinFilms, Melbourne) and Producer Andrew Wilson (Zoot Film Tasmania, Hobart). Wail Away will be a contemporary feature title sitting withn the horror/thriller genre and distributed in North America, Europe and Japan.

With an extensive location search, Tasmania has been selected for its beautiful scenery, community spirit and unprecedented potential to add production value that few states in Australia can match. In turn Wail Away will be filmed exclusively in Hobart and the Central Highlands of Tasmania over a 3.5 week period in 2011. The film will be captured on local production partner Storm Front Films Red Camera system.
CREW CALL
In recognition of the professional and dedicated local industry the majority of Key HoD crew positions plus all other secondary positions across all departments will be filled by Tasmanian practitioners.

CAST CALL
In recognition of the amazing talent of the local acting community 3 of the 6 lead roles, along with supporting, featured and extra roles in the production will be cast exclusively in Tasmania. The remaining 3 lead roles are open to competitive selection from Tasmanian, Interstate and OS actors.

Post-production is often overlooked in Tasmania on large scale productions, the Producers would like to help bring change to this situation and encourage post houses to team together if it will enable them to cover Wail Aways post requirements.
