Golden handshake for top bureaucrat

A top Tasmanian bureaucrat has been given a payout.

The former Infrastructure Department secretary Mark Addis has been handed a year’s entitlement based on his annual salary of $295,000.

He has also received $20,000 in compensation for the loss of use of a motor vehicle.

He recently ended his role in a national inquiry into the pulp and paper industry.

The former head of the Environment Department, Scott Gadd, was the last high-profile public servant to receive a hefty payout.
