Butts out in Hobart
SMOKING will be banned in Hobart’s major malls from August 1.
Last night Hobart City Council aldermen agreed unanimously to make Elizabeth Mall, the bus mall and Wellington Court smoke-free.
From August 1 next year, outdoor dining areas also will become smoking-free zones.
The council is one of the first in Australia to make such a move.
