Media Release: GREENS ANNOUNCE KARTIKA FRANKS AS CANDIDATE FOR ELWICK
Kartika Franks (39) will be announced today as the Greens candidate for the upper house seat of Elwick. Kartika ran as a support candidate in the recent House of Assembly seat of Denison.

Kartika runs a regular stall at Glenorchy market where she can meet Elwick residents to discuss important local issues.
Kartika wants to improve public transport and disability services. She is calling for a Legislative Council inquiry into disability services.
“People are telling me the system is broken and too many families are missing out on the basics and that is completely unacceptable.”
She is calling for the establishment of an independent Community and Disability Services Commissioner.
“The Greens want to make sure people with disabilities, their families, carers and the disability services workforce are appropriately supported and treated with the respect they deserve.”
Kartika has worked across a range of industries including finance and insurance and federal and state government agencies. She also has a strong industrial relations background as an elected representative with the Community and Public Sector Union.
