The latest information sheet from the Fox Eradication Program is re-hashed rubbish going back to 2001. Propaganda again; it must cost them a fortune, but someone benefits I guess!
“Latest fox scat evidence proves there are fourteen different foxes – both male and female – living in northern Tasmania”. Absolute crap and you people know it! The FEP is on the record stating they have brought in over 600 fox scats into the state; actually advertising for fox hunters in NSW to provide scat to the Tasmanian Fox Eradication Program!
I guess dead foxes that have had the last scat removed from their rectums don’t crap again!
Yes, fox scat is transportable, but where are the Tasmanian foxes that produce this crap? Why aren’t any (just one) of these scats containing Tasmanian pademelon hair or Tasmanian bettong hair, or for that matter any Tasmanian endemic species remains?
There has not been a DNA tested fox scat “recovered in Tasmania” since the 5th August 2009, shortly before their imported scat scheme was made public.
The latest contribution posted on the ABC; doubtless after reading a press release attached to a community newsletter:

The community information sheet is simply laughable:

Absolute desperation and people should be charged for wasting taxpayers’ money with such blatant and false claims.
The reference to the four carcasses… all have been disproven or rebutted and shown to be hoaxes and/or fabrication. More disturbing is the complete lack of science linking these highly publicised pieces of transportable evidence (an intact fox skull, fox scats, fox carcasses in varous states of decomposition) linked to the presence of real live foxes in the Tasmanian landscape to support their claims? Not one.
Scats… no, two scats from the same fox. Why are all our Tasmanian foxes all one-crap-wonders?
Scats recovered from across the width and breadth of Tasmania and yet not one fox shot, trapped, recovered from a massive 1080 baiting campaign or even photographed in Tasmania – not one. The Tasmanian Fox Reward now stands at $5000 (Ad in right-hand column and HERE); after more than three years it has remained unclaimed.
The FEP asked the public to be vigilant and report fox sightings as the juvenile foxes will shortly be dispersing from their dens… WHAT DENS? There has never been a fox den discovered in Tasmania!
Sightings by the public will trigger “lethal force” from the FEP. Well that would be a start if they could get just one fox.
This really has gone far enough.
WHO will the new minister be? I sincerely hope he/she has the honesty and integrity to call this and deal with it for what it is…
