It’s time for Will to show where he stands on the Climate

THE mad right of the Liberal party has come up with supporting the rabid right of the US. Unable to generate it’s own ideas it is parroting the failed ideas of the lairs for hire.

Instead of asking about the impact of modernity on our life support system by turning off your lights in Earth Hour Senator Cory Bernadi from SA promoted Human Achievement Hour. (Read all about Human Achievement Hour, HERE)

Senator Bernadi currently fills the role of a Parly Sec shadowing population and infrastructure. He is also founder and chair of the Conservative Leadership Foundation promoting the HAH event on its website and on Facebook. Senator Bernardi’s connection to the campaign highlights deep divisions in the Liberal Party over the issue of global warming.

The Liberal party may wish to define itself as a broad church, but in Tasmania it failed to convince enough voters that it was worthy of majority government and it now behoves them to walk part of the way to where voters are.

Labor supports a 60% reduction in emissions by 2050 and has even taken limited actions.

Now it’s up to Hodgman’s Liberals to speak out and to put flesh on the bones of a path to a lower carbon economy under a Hodgman government.

McKim has offered co-operation from the Greens on agendas where there is agreement, so the old parties need to clarify their current attitudes to an issue whose impacts will not worry about party lines in the sand or anywhere else.

Voters have been described by Giddings as parking their votes.

Lara failed to tell us what would determine the length of stay in the Green carpark.

Is it short term leaving at the first disappointment feeling guilty they made a ‘mistake’. No doubt there are some.

Medium term parkers may review support closer to the next election, having a deeper loss of interest in the road of modernity travelled by the old parties and be looking for a reconciliation with the natural world that supports all life.

However, voters are telling me that the failure of the old parties to recognize the desire for change expressed in the growth of the Green vote that parking will trend to long term.
