Simon Fraser’s latest report on today’s campaigning
For Labor, the EMRS poll has “…pretty much blown them out of the water”.
Labor is now only one percentage point ahead of the Greens. Bartlett improved his own position by one point, though Labor’s vote fell.
The poll also weakens the Liberals case for a majority government.
There may not be enough party members elected to fill Cabinet positions.
Size of the poll sample – in Denison, only 170 voters were interviewed.
Responses of the three leaders were interesting but their public and private views are very different.
Lisa Singh had to ‘make up’ today after yesterday’s outburst. Simon Fraser describes her apology as ‘fulsome’ (in the correct sense, ie it was insincere).
And where’s the money going to come from for the three Workplace Safety inspectors that she announced yesterday?
