Dear friends of the Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange Trust

Posted on

First, I wanted to share two e-mails I received yesterday after receiving donations via the website. I always like to know what drives people to donate.

Michael Wolf lives in Milan:

“Dear Bruce,

thank you for your kind message.
I read about the about the fact that there still are victims of agent Orange on the german magazine “der Spiegel” and I was very touched reading about the children and their parents who are desperate not knowing who will look for their children when they will be to old.
I looked around on internet trying to find out how I could help and I found between other bigger organizations your website (well done with clear information, good paypal for international donation), which convinced me because I felt that this is a small trust which really controls that the donation won’t be consumed by administration but will be entirely given to the victims. Plus I like your concept: “help to make them help themselves”. Very good, my best wishes.

And yes please keep me updated on how the your project is going on.

Kindest regards to the whole team from Milan to Tasmania.

Michael”

Long Huynh lives in Toronto:

“Hi Bruce , my name is Long as you know and last name Huynh got it 🙂 I was born in Saigon Vietnam . I came to Canada in 1994 , now am living in Toronto a lovely city to lived. I just felt very lucky than many peoples , especialy those are in need. I just got back from Vietnam recently more or less I know the orange agent were terriffied by many vietnamese until now.
Those film of kids missing limbs parts of body make me unbearable . I just want to help a lilte. I know some time money can not cure pain from the pass but I only hope and pray for history won’t happend again .

For greediness for our sins I hope god will fogive us .

By the way Happy Vietnamese New Year
The year of tiger .”

The other reason for my e-mail to you all is that the next (last?) handover of cows will take place near Hue in central Vietnam on April 22. A few of us are going over for the ceremony (followed by the usual bullfight as the cattle make their break for freedom).

I have committed to buy 25 cows and we nearly have enough in the bank or through firm commitments to do that, but I would like to provide more if I can, so if any of you who have not yet donated are prompted to do so could you please do so by PayPal on the website or by bank transfer (details below) but make sure I can identify your deposit. I’ll need the money by Feb 28.

Please do not feel obliged (many of you have donated to previous herds or wheelchairs) and there is no need to reply explaining why not.

Regards,
Bruce Montgomery
