The Margate Tip Shop operated by Cerebral Palsy Tasmania provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Senator Bilyk and Mr Shorten are both firmly committed to ensuring that people with disabilities are given as many opportunities as possible.
“It is wonderful that Cerebral Palsy Tasmania accommodates people with disabilities in its workforce.
It is always a pleasure to have the Hon. Bill Shorten in Tasmania. His commitment to removing barriers that people with disabilities and their families and carers face is a great example for the community to follow.
It is also pleasing to see Kingborough Council working with Cerebral Palsy Tasmania in a way that is beneficial for everyone involved,” stated Senator Bilyk.
The Shop provides employees with the opportunity to learn cash handling, stock inventory and customer service. Employees also have the opportunity to gain their forklift licence.
“Having fulfilling employment is important for us all,” said Senator Bilyk.”
Senator Bilyk encourages everyone to be actively involved in their community and wants to break down the barriers that prevent people with disabilities from fully participating in life.
