Clarence: Chopping up the bush
The vision of the Sky Walk along the hills from Bellerive to Droughty Point was in part a hope that this would help bring attention to the need for wildlife corridors and the healing of the damage done, such as the building for an eco-bridge across the highway that cut through the hills between Howrah and Mornington.
It is never too late to heal the damage and create a healthy range for urban wildlife that extends from Bellerive to Droughty Point, that would also allow a walking track which would be excellent for local recreation and a very nice day walk promoted for visitors, starting at Bellerive, walking the sky and returning from Triwork Point along the shore and beaches.
When a vision for urban bush and wildlife carries as much weight as the press for highways and houses, then the best outcome can be proactively planned for by Councillors, rather than leaving individuals and groups to slug it out in the courts with developers under the shadow of costs.
