Premier’s failure to save McCain jobs
Jeremy Rockliff said:
The Premier’s failure today to get McCain to reverse their decision to close their Smithton vegetable plant is very disappointing.
This is particularly so given the high expectations of a positive outcome which the Premier gave workers when he met with them on Monday.
We welcome confirmation that McCain will invest in the continued operation of their potato processing facility.
Brett Whiteley said:
Given the demonstrated failure of the Premier’s unilateral approach, and his confirmation that McCain will be part of the Community Taskforce, we again call upon the Premier to give the State Opposition a seat at the table.
