Australia’s Best joining the Tasmanian Qualifying Round
Australia’s skateboarding superstars of tomorrow are getting hyped for the first round of Australia’s biggest junior skateboarding Competition – The SbA Dew Series presented by Arnette.
The national series kicks of this Saturday the 5th of December in Devonport, Tasmania at the newly contracted Devonport Skate Park. Saturday’s event will showcase up to 100 of the state’s best junior skaters battling it out for their chance to be crowned the best skaters in the state across four divisions.
The best six finalists in each of the four divisions including 15’s and Under Boys, 18’s and Under Boys, 18’s and Under Girls and Under 18’s Sponsored Boys will receive a converted invitation to the national finals. These Twenty Four of Tasmania’s best skaters will then represent the state in the 2009/ 2010 national series final which is being held in Sydney during March 2010.
Amongst the confirmed list of skaters is 2008/2009 national champion Josh McMurray, McMurray took out first place in this year’s 17 years & under boys national final, held in Sydney during march.
The 17 year old from Perth in Western Australia has had a huge year since winning the national title in front of world renowned skate legend Tony Hawk. Josh has starred in a television commercial for series sponsor Mountain Dew and also picked up two skate industry sponsors that are supporting him in his dream of becoming a full time professional skateboarder.
