And so the personal attacks begin

As predicted, the tired and visionless Labor Party has started rolling out negative and personal attacks in a desperate attempt to retain power.

Mr Aird’s hysterical attack and verballing of me has no basis in fact.

But then again, what else would you expect from a Treasurer who has bungled just about everything he has touched – water and sewerage, land tax, energy reform – to name just a few things.

The fact is, the Labor Government did withhold from the Parliament, the Opposition and the local councils a crucial report which showed that water and sewerage rates will rise by more than 100 percent in some municipalities over the next 5-7 years as a result of Labor’s changes.

If Labor had made these facts known before the bills were voted on – rather than deliberately hiding them – our position would have been very different.

Mr Aird can attack and verbal me all he likes, but it won’t change the fact that his changes are hurting Tasmanians.

And it won’t stop us from articulating a positive vision for the future of this State – which includes fixing Labor’s bungled water and sewerage changes.
