The Examiner put to the test …

To my surprise and awe neither comment was published. 24hrs later no sign of my comments.

Absolutely nothing defamatory in my arguments which were far more coherent and intelligent than some of the other garbage comments published.

The comment below – the second comment I submitted (I failed to keep a copy of the first):

“I’m not reading anything of substance here from the pro-mill camp. I have a quuestion for you people who think it is O.k For Government to say one thing and then do the opposite. Do you teach your kids to do the same? I doubt it. Upon picking up the job as Premier from Paul lennon who had resigned with a 17% approval rating largely the result of scandals relating to the pulp mill, David Bartlett sensed the publics mood and said “hey, we went too far helping Gunns with this pulp mill, and now we’re drawing a line in the sand.
“The Bartlett government is saying we recognise residents and businesses who like Gunns, want a definite end date to the pulp mill assessment so they can move on with business and lives”.

This was the clear message the Bartlett sent the community. “You will have a yes or no by x-mas 2008″ He said. What should have been a no turned back into a yes. Just as the state govt. did so many times throughout the RPDC mill assessment, Bartlett and Aird moved the goalposts. When we look over the plethora of misleading statements, backflips and broken promises of the proponent and Government what do we tell our kids? That Gunns and the Tas deserve to be trusted? Huh”! (end of comment)

It would seem that if you criticise the Ex. as I have been seen to do on the odd occasion you don’t get published.

“Oh you are just being paranoid Rick”, I hear you say.

Am I? Lets see.

I thought I would put my theory to the test.

Today I submitted two short pro pulp mill cookie-cutter type comments under the alias names Bruce and then Ray.

Here are the comments I submitted:

“Good on you Mr Aird for looking after the workers and looking after local Tasmanian businesses. Its what we pay you to do. Go the mill!

If it was up to the Greens there would no future for industry in this state. Mike Aird did the right thing going to europe for Tasmanian jobs. The mill will provide Tassy with 2000 jobs at least. Greens tell lies!

Both of these comments were quickly posted by the Ex. within a few hours of me submitting them. The second comment was actually posted within an hour.

Arent they dears!

Why publish these comments which were submitted under alias names and not publish my comments which were submitted using my real name??

Why indeed?

Nothing has changed at the Ex.
