Public Forum: Common Ground—is a solution to the forestry conflict possible?

With your support, the Wilderness Society has been campaigning for the protection of Tasmania’s high-conservation-value forests for over 30 years. Thank you.
For decades now, there has been growing public support for forest protection, yet successive governments have failed to deliver a solution. I believe there is a positive way forward that delivers both environmental protection and a healthy economy.
Tasmania needs to find this new direction, to resolve the debate and heal community wounds. We need to work together to answer the question: how can we protect our natural environment, and make sure we have a strong economy and jobs for all?
