Kim Booth must condemn vandals

Posted on

Bass Greens MHA Kim Booth must unequivocally condemn the vandalism to the private residence of the Chairman of Gunns.

Kim Booth implied on radio this morning that this sort of senseless attack on someone’s private home had somehow been encouraged by Parliament’s approval of the pulp mill legislation.

This is a totally unacceptable position for any parliamentarian to have.

Tasmanians are happy to have robust debates on public issues but all but the most radical will immediately condemn attacks on a person’s private house.

Kim Booth must not qualify his comments on this attack by trying to explain away the motives of the idiots that undertake these sorts of violent and senseless attacks.

He must condemn this reprehensible behaviour, strongly and without any excuses.

Until he does so, then he must be viewed as trying to walk both sides of the street on what is totally outrageous criminal conduct.
