Innovation report lays Premier’s media strategy bare
For the past week David Bartlett has been hyping the media for the release of Professor Jonathan West’s innovation strategy.
What we got instead in the “handover” of the document was the latest of the Premier’s “well organized “positive” announcements as part of his election strategy.” (Mercury, 20th October, p.11)
While no doubt a meritorious document which we will examine closely, the reality is today’s “announcement”, yesterday’s announcement and no doubt tomorrow’s announcement by the Premier are all about David Bartlett’s re-election strategy, and nothing about the long-term interests of Tasmania.
Labor has had 11 years, and now in the shadows of an election they are rolling out strategy after announcement after initiative in a desperate bid to get re-elected.
Tasmanians will see this for what it is: pure self-interest from David Bartlett and Labor.
