HOBART ADVANCE FILM SCREENING HIGHLIGHTS NEED FOR MARINE PROTECTION

Hobart residents will have the chance to see acclaimed documentary The End of the Line ahead of nationwide cinema release, as part of a series of events across Australia focusing on the urgent need to protect our marine life.

The End of the Line shows the devastating impact of over-fishing globally on the oceans and coastal communities.

The WA-based Save Our Marine Life campaign has coordinated screenings across the country from Margaret River to Melbourne. Environment Tasmania is now joining with Save Our Marine Life to screen the film in Hobart.

“This powerful new film uses interviews with world leading scientists, activists and fishermen, brilliant underwater footage and sweeping cinematography to tell the story of the devastating impacts of overfishing on our oceans and fishing communities,” said Rebecca Hubbard, Marine Coordinator with Environment Tasmania.

“This film will provide the public with information on the big issues affecting our oceans globally and access to expert speakers on how we can better protect our marine life and the fantastic lifestyle that we enjoy as a result of living near the coast,” concluded Ms Hubbard.
