Daniel Lessong (SIC)

Labor’s claims today that the departure of Daniel Lessong today somehow makes them financially frugal are laughable.

Mr Leesong was dumped as Chief of Staff to the Premier when David Bartlett was installed by Labor’s machine men in May last year, but Tasmanians continued to pay his exceptionally high salary – in addition to also paying for the Premier’s new Chief of Staff.

Conservatively, this has cost Tasmanian taxpayers more than $100,000.

If Labor were serious about Ministerial costs, Mr Bartlett would never have employed a second Chief of Staff in the first place.

It just shows how out of touch Mr Bartlett is that he would one, employ two Chiefs of Staff; and two, think that wasting $100,000 plus doing it is somehow a good thing.
