Bartlett spends $100k pa on spin doctor for his failed “Tasmania Tomorrow” changes

· Government advertising today for $100k pa spin doctor for Tas Tomorrow

This comes on top of $90k spend to spruik bungled water and sewerage reforms
And at the same day as Aird laughably claims Labor are acting to control Government spending

With their so-called “Tasmania Tomorrow” changes in disarray, the Bartlett Labor Government has today advertised for a $100,000 per annum spin doctor to implement an “internal and external communication marketing and branding strategy” for the Tasmanian Polytechnic.

It is outrageous that this new spin doctor is being employed to try to sell Labor’s bungled education reforms, especially coming on top of Labor spending $90,000 on advertisements trying to tell Tasmanians why they should be thanking them for being slugged with massive water and sewerage price increases.

Even more ludicrously, the job is advertised on the same day that the Treasurer tried to tell Tasmanians that he is acting to control government spending.

In fact, the position appears to be in breach of his pledge to impose a moratorium on new positions in the public sector.

Labor is so desperate and out of touch that they will say anything, and do anything – including using taxpayer’s money for political purposes – in their bid to get re-elected.
