RED BOB
I’m a long time state Labor voter. Scratch that. I WAS a long time state Labor voter. In the next state election I will be voting Green 1 to 5. It’s not even the pulp mill that has brought this about for me. It is the general lack of leadership, the crisis to crisis nature of the government, its appalling lack of talent and, even worse, new ideas. No, I will vote Green and pray for a new government. But I am also a realist. I know that the new government will not be Green. I know that my preferences can, however, make a difference. So I will not finish my vote at five. I will then vote six to ten for the Liberals. I will do this knowing that it will take the election of more opposition MPs – Green and Liberal – to throw out Labor. Call me an optimist, but I also believe that the Liberal team – with `new’ MPs like Will Hodgman, Rockliff, Gutwein – are more likely to compromise with the Greens than Labor is or share similar views. The Tarkine road is a good example. So, yes, I see more hope for this state in a Liberal minority government than in a Labor one. Read more, Comment at the end of the article HERE
