How to get to the MyState meeting

My concern to cast my vote to save My State Financial as a Credit Union servicing its members with free and discounted services that are not available from banks or other for profit organisations led me to look for 6 Goodwood Road and the Tattersall’s Park Function Centre — the site for the General and Scheme Meetings starting 6 PM on Tuesday August 18th.

Racecourse visitors or patrons will know what follows but people like me who have not been to the Horse Races at Elwick for the best part of half a century or have never been may well have some problems finding the place.

The Tattersall’s Park building is part of the Elwick Race Course complex and behind a substantial fence between it and Goodwood Road. The entrance for cars is right at the beginning of Goodwood Road where it runs off the Brooker Highway. Coming off the Brooker Highway you turn off to the left virtually immediately after turning through the traffic lights and entering Goodwood Road from the Brooker Highway then turn right around the Brass Horse in a roadway that runs parallel to Goodwood Road but inside the fence and directly into the Tattersall’s park Building aproximately 150 to 200 metres away towards the River.

The alternative is to find a park at the side of Goodwood Road — near the exit that is aproximately half way between the entrance and the Tattersall’s Park building and walk to the Tattersall’s building. Once you get there the Functions Room is through a massive porch type structure and glass doors and then at the top of the escalator.
