Sell asets for nothing; buy them back at the highest price

Two days ago it was announced that Walker Corporation were about to pay the Government $600,000 for Ralphs Bay. Not a murmur from the press or the opposition. This is less than you would pay for a good house in Hobart. But then it is all of a piece. Sell our assets for nothing but buy them at the highest market price. The railways they sold for just one Dollar a few years ago. They are now buying them back for $54 Million. They overpaid for the Airport and they have sold the gaming rights in Tasmania to Federal Hotels for a mere $30 million. Read more, Comment here
