Media
A blatant lie
BEN LOHBERGER, Assistant Media Officer, Tasmanian Parliamentary Greens
Matthew Rogers’ recent attempt at excusing Premier David Bartlett’s refusal to be interviewed following his keynote speech to the ALP State Conference last weekend ( Here ) is a bit hard to believe given the blatant lie that Mr Rogers has included regarding the Tasmanian Greens.
Mr Rogers accuses the Greens of “not even inviting journalists to cover their annual state conferences,” when in reality the Tasmanian Greens do invite the media to their State Conferences, and even invite the journalists to (shock, horror!) conduct interviews. The media alerts from the last two Greens State Conferences clearly show that this is the case.
Mr Roger’s false accusation is just another case of the Labor Party using its favoured Goebbels Principle (a big lie, if repeated enough, becomes the truth) to target the Tasmanian Greens.
