As I have repeatedly said from the early stages of this pulp mill saga, the Gunns mill proposal was never about private enterprise hitting its straps. It was always a state sponsored project on the Soviet model (and scale). The assessment of the pulp mill proposal has only ever been a sleazy and dishonest tokenistic exercise, aided and abetted by a bunch of morons in the state and federal governments.
A benefits only assessment combined with a total disregard of the market ensured that reputable finance would have nothing to do with it. Which leaves Gunns in the fall back position of having the mill paid for by the Australian Soviet government. It’s Gunns’ core business after all: theft through proxy of the resources and cash that rightfully belong to the people of Australia.
Are we going to sit back and cop it? Turmoil and conflict without end is what I foresee. Should Beloved Leader Rudd and comrades Burke, Ferguson, Gillard, Carr, Albinese, Swann etc move to further plunder the public purse and hand over our hard earned national wealth to that pack of odious self-serving drongos in Lindsay St then I predict a move right across this nation to deprive the Feds of revenue. A tax strike you might call it, a strike that will take place on many levels, both overt and covert.
