I waited to stop crying …
GERALDINE ROBERTSON
After watching Stateline, I waited to stop crying and ‘phoned Llewellyn’s office. I left a message on the answer machine and on Monday morning received a call from his office. I have spoken to this person before on other animal issues and once again got the same old words i.e. “The Department is doing everything they can, but it takes time”. He said that Llewellyn is frequently in contact with Animals Against Cruelty and Animals Australia (which is a lie) working with them on animal issues. I then ‘phoned Woolworths. They contacted Melbourne and then ‘phoned me back to say they had to contact Sydney. I asked if I could speak to someone about this story and they said NO, that there was no one that I could speak to, it would have to come from them. I can’t believe that as a member of the public I can’t speak to someone in authority about this high priority matter. Am still waiting to hear back from someone. I heard on ABC radio today that the pig farmer’s name is … . The court case has been adjourned until LATER IN THE YEAR. Everyone needs to contact Llewellyn’s office, send an email to Tony Burke and if you can get through to Woolworths. It’s $20 a year to be a member of Animals Against Cruelty and also Animals Australia are fighting the same causes.
