The mill will not be built

I suggest that the Labor Government and its spin doctors are setting up the Tasmanian anti pulp mill protestor for tasering, Saturdays Mercury “Tasmanian police officers need a wider range of non lethal options at their disposal” written by the President of the Tasmanian Police Association.

I do not believe that our political masters, despite their corrupt behaviour and loss of reputation, consider their actions are so bad that the people of Tasmania will rise up against them, thereby endangering the thin blue line.

Who else, therefore, in this law abiding and peaceful island, with virtually no violent crime, gives cause for police protection by stun gun and or taser. I can only think of Gunns its Directors and their pulp mill, should that project finally be allowed to commence.

Most of the protestors will be married, professional, articulate and responsible Tasmanian citizens acting in a non violent and intelligent way, their natural party of choice, the Liberals, having deserted them. They will be protesting against the corruption of process which has allowed the matter to progress to date. Those who protest will be clever enough to prevent construction without recourse to brute force and ignorance. The use of stun guns and tasers against peaceful people will bring yet further odium on those whose business the politicians are seeking to enhance.

The mill will not be built, taser or no taser.
