FORESTRY TAS should be disbanded and subsumed by Parks. Too long we taxpayers have innocently propped up this juggernaut of hypocrisy. If the destroyers in Government wished to continue the destruction of our forests they can simply lease the crown land to the timber companies, let them pay for the roads, and forest infrastructure, etc. And do you know what? (Apologies to Kevin)
Nothing would happen, because this industry is propped up by taxpayers through Forestry Tas (Commercial in confidence crap) and if there was no hidden subsidy provided by you and me, the continuation of the decimation of our tall Eucalypt forests would cease, solely because of the economic reality, that, without the hidden subsidy the viability of the wood chipping for profit would evaporate.
