What Tarraleah Lodge said …
Michael Sulser
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m writing about the article by your chief “cadet” in today’s paper taking an uninformed cheap shot at Premier Bartlett and his cabinet members.
Yes they did stay at Tarraleah, Tarraleah by the way, is much more than just the luxury Lodge,
Yes they stayed in the old schoolhouse studios and shared a few of our 3 bedroom cottages (at $190 not $250 per cottage) (even the premier shared),
Yes they had a BBQ dinner in the school house and yes they had some house wines and a continental breakfast this morning with the whole exercise coming in at under $150 per head.
They even paid for their own drinks in the Tavern before the BBQ.
No, they didn’t stay at the Lodge (even a complimentary upgrade I offered to the Premier was declined!),
No they didn’t eat in the fine dining restaurant and not a one had a spa either.
So irrespective of any ones political leanings (and you, as a public service paper, supposedly at least morally un-biased!) they didn’t deserve the innuendos and false cheap journalistic smear statements.
We elect our governments and then we should encourage them in doing the best job they can and keep their concentration on things that matter and not this kind of unhelpful tripe.
I sincerely believe this doesn’t deserve a correction but actually an apology in tomorrow’s paper.
Let’s see your style.
Regards,
Michael Sulser
