Forests to pay for broken promises

THE PROBLEM with the East Gippsland old-growth forests is that they are too far away and the State Government’s 2006 election promises to protect them are too long ago. Then it was the Bracks government, with its promise to “listen, then act”. Now the Brumby Government has distanced itself from this promise. Read more here
