Well, Mr Wilkinson?

Hansard reports the conclusion of Jim Wilkinson’s speech on 30 August 2007 in favour of the Pulp Mill Permit as follows: “I am satisfied that the pulp mill proposal has been assessed against the guidelines established by the RPDC and against the conditions that were imposed by various regulators according to the law. I am satisfied that the processes and systems are, or will be, in place to properly monitor and report in an open and transparent way the development and operational stages of the proposal. The eyes of the world will be looking on. I am also satisfied that the permit and the conditions are adequate to protect the environment, public health and the sustainability of the commercial enterprises presently operating in concert with heavy industry established in the Bell Bay heavy industrial zone. In closing, Mr President, I support the motion.”
