What do all these have in common? Firstly, Forestry Tasmania acts as if they have the right to hand out licenses to destroy any or all parts they unwisely choose to, then sell a small proportion of the whole forest at a cost to the public so a few greedy people can deem themselves above natural law. 2. they are not monocultures, 3. they are mixed age and species, 4. they have spent thousands of years getting the mix right – not just 80-90 years. 5. One species is part of the whole. 6. The RFA and the forest code of practice, (practiced as if it where the word and law of a demented god), protects the greed over common sense. 7. All the above systematically destroyed. Ultimately leading to – Less sawlogs, dwindling endangered species, breakdown of ecosystems, less healthy water. Kill the old growth, kill the regrowth, kill the native seeds, kill the endangered wildlife, kill the water catchments, kill the ecosystems and what is left? Old growth defines the true nature of sustainability. Read more, Comment here
