Labor’s love knows no bounds
Chris Harries
Let’s have no illusions, Labor is so locked in with forestry interests that they will make such a political decision that is truly politically stupid, almost suicidal. Everything says that they would not, could not, be so dumb. Then I pinch myself and remember they have done it to themselves again and again. We have to remember how the Field Labor Government willingly put itself out of office on a small matter of ‘forestry principle’, thus breaching the Accord that enabled it to govern. Then there are the ministerial careers that have founded on the rocks of stupid forest decisions and manoevers. And then there was Mr Lennon’s torpedoing of the federal ALPs national election campaign five years ago. Don’t ever think Labor will ever learn from its mistakes. Its matrimonial vow to bed down with forestry has stood the test of time. The Feds comprise the likes of Ferguson and Garrett, (stridently redneck and whimpishly green) but who in their ranks has the courage to stand up for Tasmania’s forests? Read more, Comment here
