Hag’s details are sketchy, but it appears that Michael “Airdy” Aird, “Labor” Government friend of the people, mate of country sandstone-pile owning fellow socialist Paulie Lennon, had a grand time at the $2000 a head dinner in his honour last January. All I know is that Federal Hotels boss Greg “Greggy” Farrell and his words-man, Liberal stalwart Brendan Blomley, and other Big End of Towners were there in abundance. But, strangely, no rank ‘n’ file it seems. No Labor stalwart worker ants. Guess they couldn’t afford it …
