Mayor defends trip to France

HOBART Lord Mayor Rob Valentine donned a French beret yesterday as he announced plans for a ratepayer-funded trip to France next month with his wife and three other aldermen. But he rejected suggestions that the delegation’s escape from the Tasmanian winter – which will cost about $70,000 in fares and accommodation – was a junket. Read more here
