The incompetence of Gunns and the government shows up in it’s initial technology scoping and site selection. While any marginal value-adding process may be torpedoed by the combination of high exchange rates, financial markets crisis and skilled labour shortages, if the government and Gunns had pursued a more reasonable project at an alternative location, it could now be in construction.
3-cheers for those raising the Botnia issue. This is a litmus test for the environmental claims of proponents and opponents, particularly fugitive emissions. Either the Mercury or the ABC must send somebody to investigate (sounds like a job for Foreign Correspondent…) Read more, Comment here
