The United Nations Enviromental Programme http://www.unep.org/geo, announced its fourth report. It says “that major threats to the planet such as climate change, the rate of extinction of species, and the challenge of feeding a growing population are among the many that remain unresolved, and all of them put humanity at risk.”
Clearly both major parties are not doing enough and not addressing the issue of climate change and sustainability seriously, otherwise the Tassie pulp mill, a highly unsustainable project would not have been approved. If our politicians really cared Australia would be at the forefront of climate change policy and solutions, and our Environment Minister would be using the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC http://www.environment.gov.au/epbc/index.html) to review projects like the pulp mill.
• This is one of two posts to the website http://votedani.com/ and I will be publishing more. Please join if you have not done so already. I would love some comments and responses. You do not have to be in the Wentworth electorate or want to vote for me. Interesting debate on the posts is what I am seeking.
Thanks and Regards
