Greed above need

A democratically elected Government has a duty to care for the people’s need. However, Paul Lennon seems to care more for the pulpmill’s greed.

For example, Lilydale needs water. Water partially comes from Rocky Creek, which, in this time of drought, is running dry. Hence the need for tough water restrictions. Lilydale water is also polluted. Hence the need to boil.

John Gay wants 70,000,000,000 litres of drinking water per year from the Trevallyn Dam to feed the greed of his pulpmill.

Yet …

Paul Lennon allows John Gay to clearfell upper catchments in obvious dismissal of farmers’ needs.

Paul Lennon will allow John Gay to empty polluted water into Bass Strait in obvious dismissal of fishermen’s needs.

Paul Lennon permits John Gay’s plantations in obvious dismissal of communities’ needs.

Paul Lennon will allow John Gay ‘first go’ at Trevallyn Dam’s water in seeming dismissal of Tamar Valley needs.

Now …

John Gay says he might not build his mill unless Paul Lennon feeds his greed.

So …

Paul Lennon is prepared to dismiss independent reports and submissions by axing the RPDC. Paul Lennon is set to ignore the pleas of orchardists, olive growers, organic farmers, vintners, residents and small business operators.

Paul Lennon justifies these values on the basis of John Gay’s IIS …

John Gay’s IIS says there will be a considerable amount of infrastructure near the Trevallyn Dam.

John Gay’s IIS says this infrastructure will include several potentially noisy 6375kw pumps.

John Gay’s IIS says the expected disturbance by jet trenching at Newnham is only expected to last for a couple of days.

John Gay’s IIS says the East and West Tamar Highways will be disrupted from time to time.

John Gay’s IIS says hopefully traffic control measure and diversions will cut traffic disruption to a minimum.

John Gay’s IIS says various properties will be effected.

John Gay’s IIS says each of these properties will experience some blasting, noise, dust and access disruption, but this should only be for a short time.

It seems our ‘democratic’ and transparent Premier places John Gay’s needs above the Tamar Valley, pulpmill above rationing, corporation above people … profit above everything!

Together Lennon/Gay have developed a whole new political philosophy …

Greed above Need!
