The Ex gets a makeover: Hello Illawarra Mercury
The Hag
Not content with the lifting the Barra (The Barra winner cops another serve) Hag hears the Ex is going all out for even bigger awards with a makeover…
But do not become too encouraged beloved reader. The makeover doesn’t actually run to journalistic resources.
As with the vision of most modern tabloids Hag hears there are no plans to upgrade reporting staff, or add more staff to an already depleted subbing desk, or improve the skills of junior staff being asked to provide more and better work with little incentive.
Oh god no.
It’s all about looks you damn fool; not content … and Hag hears the redesign is being copied straight from the pages of The Illawarra Mercury.
Mind you, as a brain-damaged alcohol-addicted thuggess, Hag does not vouch for the accuracy of any this.
Meanwhile Hag does not expect too many revelations about the pulp mill to appear on the Ex’s upgraded website. (The Ex)
Each night the Ex puts four news stories and two sports stories onto the free page … but judging by the Ex’s recent treatment of the Victorian Supreme Court ruling that Gunns should pay Gunns 20 legal costs, anything negative about the Great Advertiser aint going to get anywhere near the website: The Ex report in the paper was buried somewhere about page 6 in about 10 pars under a 30 point headline. The Mercury ran it front page.
Say no more!
